CITY COMMISSIONS &
COMMITTEES
City Commissions and
Committees are the foundation of our community. They are how the community
navigates the daily and weekly decisions that make Chowchilla run smoothly
to become the kind of community we all desire. Your Mayor and City Council
members encourage residents to become involved.
These are voluntary positions for eligible citizens. To be
eligible, a citizen must reside in the city limits of Chowchilla, sometimes
in the County area, and be a registered voter. The terms of office are four
years and members may serve as many as two consecutive terms. For more
information, view the
"How to Serve on City of Chowchilla Boards and Commissions" brochure.
Serving requires a commitment that is not to be taken
lightly. As noted in the City's Municipal Code, absences from regular
meetings during any calendar year without the formal consent of the board
may be reason for declaring a position as vacant.
Refer to the
Chowchilla Municipal Code Chapter
2, Sections 24-27 for information on all the City's Commissions and
Committees.
