CLEANUP
PROGRAMS
|
| |
|
| |
The
Public Services Department offers annual programs such as the
Residential Community Clean-up Day, the
Seasonal
Leaf Clean-up, and the Christmas Tree Roundup in order to help keep our
community clean for all to enjoy. |

Residential
Community Clean-up Day |
| |
|
| |
WHO:
This is a FREE annual curb-side service for single-family residences
for City of Chowchilla solid waste customers only. For apartment or
condominium residents, please contact your landlord to arrange for special
disposal issues. For gated community residents, please contact your
Homeowners Association for disposal information. Residences with bin service
on Robertson Boulevard or Defender Street will be contacted with special
instructions. For specific questions, call Public Services at (559) 665-8615,
extension 305. |
| |
|
| |
WHEN:
The event takes place on the third Saturday in
September every year. For 2012, the entire City will have pick-up
service on Saturday, September 15. Your waste needs to be out to the
curb before 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, but absolutely no sooner
than September 8. Placing waste out prior to this date, or later than 6:00
a.m. on the scheduled pick-up day will result in a special pick-up fee. All
items not picked up per guidelines must be cleared within 72 hours. Every
effort will be made to pick up your waste on the designated day. If it is
not, please leave it out for pick-up the following day. |
| |
|
| |
WHAT:
The City of Chowchilla recycles everything
possible, so it is very important for all waste to be separated into
three categories: GREEN WASTE, RECYCLABLE WASTE, and OTHER WASTE. Please
place all waste at curbside, and please remember not to block gutters,
traffic lanes, or bicycle lanes. Separate trucks will pick up the different
materials at various times of the day. |
| |
|
| |
RESTRICTIONS:
The annual event is a major undertaking,
therefore we must require compliance with the following rules: |
| |
-
A special minimum pick-up fee of
$75.00 per hour will
be charged to the property owner if any of the following conditions exist:
x
Items placed out sooner than 1 week prior to the designated date
x
Items placed out later than 6:00 a.m. on the scheduled pick-up day
x Items placed
out after that type of material has already been collected
x Waste hauled
in from another location
x Excessive
quantity - limit is 2 pickup loads of waste per household
x Waste and
materials that are not properly separated
x Clean-up of
any spillage caused by the placement of prohibited items
x
Items not picked up within 72 hours after clean-up day
- There will be NO alley pick-up
-
All vehicles must be parked off the street during the
day of collection until items are picked up. This reduces potential
property damage and facilitates pick-up.
-
Do NOT use black, blue, or green containers to
hold community clean-up items. These containers will only be emptied by
the driver on your regularly scheduled waste collection day.
