The Public Services Department is here to serve the community by providing airport, street, solid waste, water, wastewater, and storm water services. Public Services contributes to the health, well-being, and convenience of citizens, visitors, business, and industry by operating and maintaining the City's streets, drinking water, wastewater and storm water systems for long-term service. These responsibilities must be managed in a cost effective manner as budget guidelines allow while remaining sensitive to the needs of the citizens we so proudly serve. Our department schedules and prioritizes both long-term projects and current programs in order to provide and maintain Public Services infrastructure, facilities, service, and operations. We also coordinate with the City Engineer in formulating a City wide street/alley construction and maintenance Master Plan. Other current projects consist of developing a plan to expand the City Corporation Yard, water system improvements, and the design of a new Waste Water Treatment Plant. |
